What to do in a dental emergency
Simple first steps for severe tooth pain, a broken tooth or a knocked-out tooth, and when to go straight to an emergency department.
Severe tooth pain
Rinse gently with lukewarm water and avoid very hot, cold or sugary food on that side. Message or call the clinic so we can see you as soon as possible.
A broken or chipped tooth
Rinse your mouth and keep any piece you can find in a clean container with a little milk or saliva. Call us. Avoid biting on that tooth.
A knocked-out tooth
Call us straight away. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root, and do not scrub it. Keep it moist and bring it with you. Time matters, so do not wait.
Go to an emergency department if
You have swelling that spreads to your face or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, heavy bleeding that will not stop, or a head injury along with a dental injury.
Our hours
We are open every day, 10am to 8pm, at One Lake Plaza, JLT. Outside those hours, use the nearest emergency department for severe symptoms.
